Instruments For The Scale Model Page 37

If your like me, you like to add gages in the cockpit just for the fun of it, even if a toy figure is piloting the plane. So by chance, I get in this 1960 Air Trails Model Annual and to my surprise, it has a really cool article named "Instruments For The Scale Model".

I have the entire article available at 150 dpi jpg, PLUS,,, after 2 hours of trial and error, I decided to go with the 2 pages with all the nifty dials as BMP files at 150 dpi. These 2 pages will print out as beautiful Black and White pages on 8.5" by 11" paper using your home printer. Do remember to choose "fit to page" and "Best Quality" on your printers properties for the best results while printing out the Black and White pages only. You only need choose NORMAL for the other pages. This might be under "Preferences" on your soft ware. These dial pages can also be enlarged or made smaller to print out gages to your desired size. COOL Huh?
Oh well, after a few trials, you will get the hang at it.
Also, just two tips I want to give you. First, you do not need to print out the whole sheet while playing with your printers settings. Simple click to Cancel Printing about 20% thru. This will give you an excellent idea how the page will print. Second, just turn the sheet around and use the back side to print another sample. Hey, I saved 5 or 6 sheets doing this.
And I wonder what if you used some of that high quality glossy paper they use to print photographs on?

I hope you enjoy making your own dials as much as I did rescuing this Jewel of an article from this great and rare 46 year old magazine.

These are high resolution files containing 150 x 150 dots per inch.

There is the cover and 5 pages in a JPG format in color. I also include are 2 pages that are in a BMP format at 150 dpi. I am doing my best to keep this description as simple as can be for the computer challenged! LOL
Just trust me, just as with my plans, your Satisfaction is fully guaranteed. So you are risking Nothing. And remember, I am the Leading authority in the world at doing this. With 2 web sites with 400 plans including pages of instructions, this puts me right up there along with Moses.
Hey, speaking of Moses, I see a burning bush in my back yard now......
Nope, I stand corrected, just a burning cross and some guys in white hoods!,,,, How sweet, the KKK remembered my birthday. Looks like I had better grab a beer and go join them. I bet they burn an effigy of some perverted, corrupt politician. There seems to be no shortage of those parasitic SOBs in the world. LOL
Distant voice from the back yard; Hi ya Sheriff. I see we are burning ex-Congressman Mark Foley. Thats good cause I was tired of doing nothing but them thar democrats.
Now lets roast that pervert disguised in Republican's clothing!

Files $5.00
What the heck happened to my color???
I must have scanned the article in the sun to long???
Now do keep in mind that these 2 Black & White pictures do NOT do the original BMPs files justice.
As they where shrunken like a head hunters trophies and converted into JPEGs just for this listing!
Yupper, Thats my very own fuel gage! LOL

Scale Float plan for planes

These are 1/12 scale floats for a 3.5 to 4 lb plane. Of course, the beauty of having the file to print these plans is that you can enlarge the plan to meet your building requirements, say as a 7 lb. plane. All bulk heads/formers are clear and precisely shown. I myself, would most likely mount them using flat stock aluminum available from the hard ware store, as I care little for "scale struts" on my models, but that is just my preferences. Hey, what ever floats your plane! LOL

Now lets discuss printing cost. Most printers charge 25 cents a square foot. So this plan would print on 36" wide paper and would cost you 75 cents a running foot at: Bill & Ted's Most Excellent Print Shop! If printed to size, the plan would be printed on 36" wide paper and 32" long. Rounded off to 36" in length, Bill and Ted will charge you $2.25 plus tax (75 cents x 3 = 2.75).  Wow, so simple of math that a Hooters waitress, given the time, could have figured this one out. (why do you think it takes so long to get your check?)
Of course, many of you have access to an oversize printer. So your cost are a personal favor or nothing. Hey, print off several copies for future use and for friends.  Whada-I-care? Shucks, print a few for raffle/fun fly prizes. I'm with you 100%. As long as you do not sell them commercially. That is all I require. No big deal, huh? Just keep them from falling into the wrong hands. You know, unscrupulous eBay plan sellers. Those criminals will stop at nothing and are able to hide behind eBay with out fear of prosecution. Hey, as long as eBay makes their money, they have no ethics to live buy.

This is a high resolution TIFF file and PDF file containing 200 x 200 dots per inch.
Either file will print a plan 25" x 32" but will reguire 36" wide paper to print on in the USA.

File $5.00
